To be nominated for a NUSPA you must be...

• a poet and/or spokenword artist
• provably active on a local, regional and/or national level in the category/categories of nomination during the year since the last NUSPA cermony
• a member of NUSPA (National Underground Spokenword Poetry Association)

To nominate someone for a NUSPA you must be...

• a poet and/or spokenword artist

NUSPA Members may nominate one artist/group/venue per category and the top five (5) recipients of nominations in each category will become the 2011 NUSPA nominees. The nominees will be notified of their nomination(s) and given an opportunity to promote it to their friends, family, and fans before a month long open vote takes place on this website. While voting is open to everyone each registered voter is only allowed one vote per category. NUSPA winners will be announced at the 2011 ceremony in the following thirteen (13) categories.

• Spokenword Album of the Year

• Most Inspirational Poet
