The National Underground Spokenword Poetry Association (NUSPA) aspires to help establish and shape standards for our art form both with and within our community of literary and performing artists. Our efforts thus far have been concentrated upon the National Underground Spokenword Poetry Awards, a ceremony in which the gifts of our community are publicly recognized/honored by our community for the purpose of facilitating unity within our art form.

This year's NUSPA ceremony took place Saturday May 7, 2011 @ the Hyatt in Crystal City, Virginia
